Sport is a universal language. Whether you like football or tennis is your favorite sport, the fact remains that you are a sport lover. And while lovers of sports have discovered how to make money from their passion – with betting – we’re asking a simple question: Why do you bet?
Betting has been around for quite a while. Notwithstanding how long you’ve been betting, there must be one reason or the other you bet.
Some common responses to a question like this are:
“I Bet To Make Money”
For some bettors, it’s all about the money that can be made from placing a bet on either a “home team win” or the “total match points”. For some of them, understanding the kind of market they play in and following trends in the sports they bet in is essential to them and their “cash inflow” from betting.
While some of them can select just a handful of games, others prefer the “long” bet slip (or ticket as it is fondly called). Their cash out is steady and they will most times put their money on any sport once it makes them money.
“I Bet Because of My Passion”
Those who say this are:
- Those who have one sports club/team that they support and will go to any length to prove their love for them.
- Those who know so much about one sport or the other that they feel their passion should be earning them money through betting.
- Those who are very knowledgeable and passionate about the sports betting industry, so much that they think they know the weaknesses and loopholes of the industry, and therefore can take advantage of those to make money. (One certain “Papi” gave this answer.)
People in these three categories have all the stats at hand. They know what the record books says, which team beat which other team and in which year it occurred. The numbers, trends, stats and figures are not far from their reach.
Armed with all of these, they make moves to use them while deciding on which game to put their money on and which one to avoid. They bet because their passion is their knowledge; what guides them successfully through the labyrinth of the betting world and helps them to earn money.
“To Put My Money Where My Mouth Is”
Talk is cheap. And that’s the watchword of some folks. They’d rather do than go on all day talking about what they want to do. When it comes to betting, it’s majorly about backing up their statements. You’ll find out that most are either die-hard fans or just those who believe it’s a good day to go all in.
These folks are very closely related to the last ones: the passionate folks.
We’ve looked at three major reasons why people bet. But we are certain there are more reasons out there.
So we still have to ask you, our esteemed reader: “Why do you bet?” Leave us a comment and let us know your reason.Tags: sports betting
