The world is football is going to get really busy from now till the end of the year. With the last international break of the year done and dusted, clubs will be heavily involved in various competitions till the turn of the year.
For some clubs, it will be majorly about staying afloat and ensuring they don’t lose too many games. For some others, it will be mainly about protecting their unbeaten start to the season.
There aren’t many clubs yet to taste defeat, especially in Europe’s top five leagues. To put things in context,
- PSG have lost three games in the French Ligue 1
- Barcelona have lost three games in the Spanish La Liga
- Manchester City have lost three games in the English Premier League
Only one-third of the football season has been played so far. Yet, all these top teams have lost this amount of games. It has been a pretty difficult season for most of the top teams, except Liverpool and Juventus.
One thing both teams have in common is they are yet to lose a single game in their respective leagues.
The Reds have continued from they stopped last season. As European champions, they’ve started the new season with a major goal in mind: win the Premier League title that has remained evasive for close to three decades now.
Despite playing both Manchester clubs, Tottenham, Arsenal and Leicester in their last 10 games, they’ve managed to remain unbeaten. There’s a certain pressure that comes with trying to maintain an unbeaten record. The Reds are however managing this pressure well, with nine wins in their last 10 games in all competitions.

With their unbeaten run so far in the league, they’ve opened up a comfortable lead for themselves at the top of the league. But can they maintain it?
